How do I apply?
Your application, or your potential employee’s applications, can be done completely online. You must know the exact type of check you require and have all the required information and documents ready. You can contact our team for specific advice on which of the 7 checks you need. Once you’ve spoken with our team you can then get started on our ‘How To Apply’ page.

How long does it take?
Once you have submitted your details our team will usually review your information within a few hours. If more information is required we will get in touch by email. Once we have everything ready, the application will be processed in a matter of hours and the basic disclosure certificate will be dispatched to the current address provided on the application, this usually takes between 7 and 14 working days depending on national application volume.

What do I need to apply?
This depends on which of the 7 checks you require. Our team will cover all of these factors once we have your details ready.

What level check do I require?
Again, this depends on what industry you are planning to work in. Our support team can advise you on this once we’ve fully understood your situation.

Can I check the status?
Yes. Tracking the status of your DBS check can be done at any time using our ‘Track Your DBS‘ feature.

Can I apply whilst outside of the UK?
Yes. This can be done but there are additional steps that need to be completed depending on your current situation. One of our team can discuss what is required of you.

Can I use DBS Central to check a bulk amount of applications?
Yes. We have a custom system for bulk orders to make the process efficient. Please go to our bulk checking service application page to have an account set up. Our API solution is available by request only.
